First call for the Shilong Express

The last 23rd of May, the Shilong Express took its first journey on the 9197 kilometers road that separate the city of Shenzhen to Duisburg. This first direct call connecting South China and Europe enables the city of Shenzhen to be easily linked to the China- Europe rail route.

Shenzhen, which economy is deeply related to electronics is a perfect city to be plugged into the China-Europe route. Indeed, Apple, Dell or HP’s factories or Foxconn, Huawei and ZTE‘s head offices are located in Shenzhen, these companies will now have the opportunity to deliver their product directly to Europe by train.

Chinese cities have now understood the advantages of this China-Europe rail route and try more and more to be connected to it. This new regular service connecting Shenzhen to Europe in 19 days will have weekly departure each Tuesday. China is Europe’s fastest growing export market, the value of exports worthed 170 US billions in 2016 and we expect this figure to grow in 2017.

CMA CGM Log offers its customers to carry their commodities on this new line going through Manzhouli, Warsaw and Hamburg. CMA CGM Log enables its customers to save costs, indeed most shipments starting from South China have to bear higher pre-carriage for connecting the block train in Changsha or Wuhan. The opening of the Shilong express line will fill the gap of South China and low down the whole way freight.
